1. What is the University of Arizona Foundation?

The University of Arizona of Arizona Foundation is an Arizona non-profit corporation founded in 1958. The UA Foundation is committed to supporting and enhancing the vision, mission and values of the University of Arizona through the development and management of private support.

2. How much does it cost to name or furnish a laboratory?

A gift of $100,000 will name a laboratory, $50,000 will name a conference/board room, $20,000 will name a faculty office, $5,000 will name a student work station, and a gift of $300,000 will furnish a laboratory in recognition of, or in memory, of a family member or loved one.

3. How much does it cost to fund a “Research Award”?

A gift of $10,000 will provide “seed-money” to purchase supplies to fund a novel research project. A gift of $41,000 will provide one year “Graduate Assistantship” for a graduate student studying cardiovascular biology, and $50,000 will fund a complete Research Program (e.g., technical support and supplies).

4. Can I designate my gift to a specific purpose or project?

You may designate your gift to any research project or program currently underway or planned with in the Molecular Cardiovascular Research Program. If you wish to designate your gift to a new program or a project that is not currently in operation, please call or email Dr. Carol Gregorio, Director of the Molecular Cardiovascular Research Program (520-626-8113) to ensure that your gift can be utilized as you wish.

5. How do I set up a memorial fund?

In order to establish a memorial fund following your death, please include a written statement of your wishes with the following: your church, synagogue or mosque; your family members; your legal counsel; and/or with the funeral home of your choice. Memorial designation forms are available. If you wish to order one, please call or write to us. If you choose not to complete a form, simply include your name and the name of the fund to which gifts should be directed. Specify that gifts be made to the UA Foundation – Molecular Cardiovascular Research Program and mailed to: UA Sarver Heart Center, P.O. Box 245046, Tucson, AZ 85724-5046.

6. Do you accept Corporate Matching Gifts?

Matching gifts from corporations are a substantial and welcome way for donors to help the University of Arizona obtain additional gifts. Matching gifts, directed for the same purpose as your gift, will be credited to a particular purpose as an additional contribution over and above your personal gift or pledge.
