My research interest lies in advancing gene and cell therapy strategies for treating muscular dystrophy and cardiomyopathy. I investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the development, degeneration, and regeneration of skeletal and cardiac muscle, utilizing genetic mouse models and CRISPR gene editing. The core objective of my work is to overcome translational barriers by improving the efficiency and specificity of targeted gene editing to heart and skeletal muscles.
